Do you know what I hate? I hate being absent one day and then having to do all these things just to get caught up. The first thing that is the worst is making up homework and class work you missed because you were sick or you were on vacation. A second thing I hate is, having to go before and after school to learn the things that you didn't learn while you were gone. And the third thing that sucks about making up work is it's your responsibility to do it.
Making up the homework isn't fun at all. It just doubles the amount you have that night which means that your favorite show on T.V. is going to have to be recorded, or just not watched at all. Making up the work is just a hassle and sometimes you think that missing school isn't worth it, well that is if you care about school. Everybody should care about school, but that's a different subject that I'm not going to get into.
Who likes waking up earlier then they have to? Nobody likes it, and that's why it stinks to have to get up early and go to school to make up work and talk to the teacher. School is long enough as it is and if you are going to stay after or go before school then it is like adding an hour to our already seven hours of schooling.
Responsibility. It is a word that not a lot of students understand, even though they should. It means that you have to make sure to do things that are expected of you, and you need to be okay with the way some things turn out. For example, school. If you miss a day, or even a week teachers say it is our responsibility to come in and make up what we missed. And if you ask me, I think a little reminder would be just dandy.
Missing a little bit of school can be a real pain when the time comes when you need to make it all up, so if you'd like my opinion, do it as soon as you get back, because the longer you wait, the harder it's going to be to make it up. So, who wants to do the make-up homework? Or, staying after school? Or, knowing that it's your responsibility to make it up? Not a lot of people, so after you're sick or on vacation, hurry and make it all up.
